Another milestone has been achieved! We are very pleased and excited to share the Uncover Colombia logo with you:
The team has chosen to use a butterfly as its lifecycle represents transformation; beginning with an egg, hatching into a caterpillar, forming a chrysalis and then emerging as a beautiful butterfly. Colombia is a developing country, and whilst most tourists haven’t put it at the top of their ‘must see’ list to date, we intend to show you what you’re missing. We’ll be updating our blog, Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook pages to show you why it is such a wonderful and enchanting country. We’ll introduce you to the array of nature ripe for exploration, the bustling cities, and to cultural elements such as dance, art and food. Colombia is often rated as having one of the happiest populations in the world, and we’re here to show you why!
The butterfly also links back to the indigenous Indian population in Colombia; they too associated it with transformation and created gold ornaments to transform themselves with animal features. Examples can be found of gold nose ornaments in the shape of butterflies. You will also notice that the butterfly is flying out of a box; this is a representation of the country shedding its negative stereotypes and being better understood and appreciated by the wider world.
Whilst the logo was a team decision, we would like to send a big Uncover Colombia “thank you” to Santiago, the creative brain behind it.
